Qualifications and experience

  • Educational Psychologists have an MSc or Doctoral qualification in Educational Psychology. Prior to qualification, they have been a qualified teacher or have relevant paid experience working with children.

  • Individuals trained as Educational Psychologists complete training at institutions accredited by the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Psychological Society (BPS).

  • Once qualified, Educational Psychologists can become Chartered with the BPS. They must register to become a Practitioner Psychologist (Educational Psychology) and maintain standards of proficiency to remain registered.
