I listened to a Picture Book Summit podcast excerpt last night on allowing time for writing and the role of procrastination. There were some really important pointers on how we might just have to sit with the difficulty getting started because the trying to write is better than the NOT writing. I liked the idea of putting writing into my daily calendar like I would do with other things and doing it rather than leaving it to the last point of the day if I get time, which I never do because Iām exhausted! There was also a suggestion to make the writing process into very small chunks or pieces and work on these so that they are achievable and can be crossed off as they are completed. All of these strategies offered me small nuggets I can apply to my own writing practice and process. Now I just need to get on with it! āļø
