Barty Bear Adventures

Barty Bear Adventures - All Abroad The Jolly Bear was my 1st picture book. Barty Bear Adventures is a series of picture books for young children featuring the bear 🐻 and his sidekick 🐼 on a number of imaginary adventures. Of course, the bears don’t know they are imaginary, so let’s keep that between us.

Along with 🐻, I have written a memoir, part way through an adult novel, ‘Seen and Not Heard,’ and 'The Dog Catcher,' and a number of picture books. I’m a wannabe author and illustrator. I have studied art to support my journey. I have completed a diploma in Children’s Book Illustration with the London College of Art. I’ve also done short courses with the House of Illustration.
I am a member of 12 x 12 PB, Write Mentor, Golden Egg and SCBWI. I have an MA in Children’s Literature and a BEd in English. I have completed Curtis Brown Creative courses in writing novels and illustrating and writing children’s books, as well as Writing for Children and Young Adults with The Golden Egg Academy. In my day job, I am a Child and Educational Psychologist and Play Therapist. I was also a primary school teacher for seven years, between 1998 and 2004, and tried lots of my ideas on my class 🤣 I have also researched MANY picture books over time 📖 and I still do. I LOVE them 😍 
I am a mum of two children, three dogs, two guinea pigs and a snake.
