As part of my commitment this month to enter more writing competitions and get myself more out there, short notice I joined the Atlanta Writing Workshop #ATLWW today. I joined five seminars remotely and I gained a lot.
I swallowed my nervousness and booked two in person #PBpitch sessions with agents. I didnāt know what to expect and Iām also a UK #author in a US market.
The feedback from the first was I gave a strong pitch and they liked the content, but it didnāt fit with their list. This was still confidence boosting and helped me with what to expect for the second. The second was my top choice of agent and, as a consequence of my pitch, she has asked me to send her three of my PB manuscripts, including the one I pitched with! I am nervous and excited all at once! š¬šµš¤©
Simultaneously, I prepared a proposal for a non-fiction textbook on an aspect of therapy and sent it to a publishing house yesterday. Today, I heard that they liked my idea and information I sent and have asked for the full proposal. Exciting times!
The likelihood is that these opportunities might not lead to the big break, but itās a small
achievement in itself and propels me on āļø
