So, I was asked to send three manuscripts to an agent yesterday during a pitch. I am keen to respond, but also I donāt want to rush and make a silly mistake. I want to feel confident that if this doesnāt lead anywhere I have given it my best shot.
After doing an illustrating and writing a childrenās picture book course, I find I can write my stories in 500-600 words and consider them
over 32 page books. When I am editing, I read them out loud to see how they sound. I think this goes back to the hours I have spent as a teacher, therapIst and a parent reading PB texts out loud. I think this is the best test for me. Does it sound right? I sometimes even read them to my dog š¶
i have tightened up my newest manuscript today and I will also revisit the other two before sending them. I also need to learn how to master Query Manager before I can submit. I need to be careful as this type
of thing can be a real stumbling block for me. It doesnāt take much to distract me, especially if the task involves something a bit scary š
