Following on from an illustration workshop with David Litchfield at iaminprint conference at Winchester in June, I rediscovered my illustration mojo! I started to draw and paint again.
Now, I say again but I never really stopped as I have been scrapbooking and using mixed media since 2009 but I haven’t felt able to draw properly and doubted my ability. The diploma with London College of Art in Illustrating Children’s Books helped but I was still unsure.
Recently, I have just loved drawing and I have found that it is true, practice makes you better so I am building my portfolio. I even mastered a style for humans this week which I never thought was possible. The icing on the cake has been a shortlisting for Pathways into Publishing, a course for Illustrators. I am delighted to have got this far and I now believe in myself and the characters in my head!
Now, I must draw, draw, or paint or stick to get better and better!
