Disappointment and new possibilities! 🐾

Today, it was the announcement of the #50preciouswords contest. I was really happy with my entry, Make Do and Mend Mouse, but it didn’t catch the eye of the judges. I wonder if this maybe because it is a WWII home front theme that is really UK-inspired and might not appeal to US interests. Of course, it may be nothing to do with this and actually it just wasn’t good enough 🤣😞

I really like the idea of it and I do want to complete it so that it is a full picture book text. It may be one best queried with UK agents initially though.

Fortunately, a good way to override the disappointment is to enter another contest! So today, I entered #Pitchhero with the @writementor hub. 300 characters including spaces to pitch a hero. Today, it is the turn of Barty Bear 🐻
