It seems that time is passing so quickly and it’s difficult to stay on top of everything!
This last weekend, I had my second workshop day, beginning of term 2, for Golden Egg Writing for Children and Young People and then finished the day with small edits to three picture book texts and one major redraft from a 121 I had previously with Amy Sparkes. I wasn’t sure about the changes at the time, but now I’m really pleased with it. I sent it for a critique I won and also entered the I am in Print Winchester festival Picture Book competition. I also entered my memoir with an edit and also the Novel in Development for Write Mentor. I finished the weekend with an entry to win a week writing retreat in France during August, which just sounds amazing for both body and mind, as well my work in progress! It’s with Marcus Sedgwick, who I find so inspirational, so I am crossing everything! I’m not sure if he attends but I trust it’s a winner if he’s backing it.
What a hive of writing activity! Last weekend, I completed my London College of Art diploma in Illustrating Children’s books and submitted. I have passed with merit so I now need to decide how I feel about illustrating! I have a picture book course with the Good Ship Illustration to complete so I will see how I get on with that!
It‘s all go! No mentorships won this year which is a shame but I will persevere.
